Hi! I am Stephen Leung from group 7 from 1E. We are doing a project to find out how Compact fluorescent lamps reduce the use of electricity, did Donald Tsang let his relatives to make a profit by the scheme of distributing cash coupons to the citizens and the problem of global warming. We are finding information from the web, newspapers, radio and television. We will accept all kinds of opinion!

Compact fluorescent lamps

The energy of the world will be use up one day.Electricity is a kind of energy that will be use up one day. Electricity crisis appear in lots of place in the world.Although electricity can be produce by using solar, hydro and wind power, these method are expensive and need time to build the machine and facilities for producing electricity. Decrease the uses of electricity is also a good method. The topic of using Compact fluorescent lamps(CFLs) to reduce the use of electricity is very heat in the last few months because of Donald Tsang's planed to distribute cash coupons for CFLs to residential electricity account holders in the Policy Address.
I think that this is a good idea because CFLs consume 70% less electricity than incandescent lightbulbs of the same light intensity.The life expectancyof CLFs is generally about 8 to 10 times to that of incandescent.More dollars can be saved on your electricity bill in the long term,and a better living environment can be portrayed. It is a good way to reduce the use of electricity by replacing incandescent light bulbs by CFLs.I think the use of CLFs will increase with the help of the government. What do you think about it?
